GeoConnector Update v2.0.51 - InfoGeographics Inc. ================================================= The GeoConnectorPackage.zip file contains two executable files. GeoC2051Update.exe =================== - This installation executable will update your GeoConnector installation to version 2.0.51. - This installation should ONLY be run if you have already updated your Equalizer Assessing System to the new Equalizer 2006 format. - This installation is an update/patch, and can only be installed over a previous full installation of GeoConnector v2.X. If you require a full installation of GeoConnector 2.0.X, you can request an installation CD by sending an email to geoc@infogeographics.com, or by calling 231.995.8266. SessionMapper.exe ================== - This utility executable is designed to assist users in making their GeoConnector session files compatible with the new Equalizer Assessing System database format. This utility should only be run AFTER the GeoConnector update/patch has been applied. As you may or may not be aware, the recent upgrades made to the Equalizer Assessing System's database format included some security upgrades, as well as some very significant changes to the tables. Firstly, a large number of fields were renamed. Secondly, a large number of fields were moved to different tables. - This issue of renamed fields is handled seamlessly by the tool, it essentially scans sessions for the old name and replaces it with the new name, while maintaining the fields "Alias" setting. The tool also fixes name & index changes in the "Field Export Order" as well. - The issue of fields that have been moved to another table is more complicated, as GeoConnector data sources are tied to individual tables. In this case, the utility scans session files for fields that no longer exist in the table being exported. The utility removes these fields from the session file. If the field being removed is "Selected" to be exported as part of the GeoConnector session, it is logged, along with the "Alias", the new field name, and the name of the table the field is now stored in. This log will assist the user in creating any new sessions necessary to restore their data publishing back to full content. - *Note* - The utility does not edit or otherwise manipulate any user-defined filters. These will need to be manually adjusted by the user. - *Note* - If you need to create any additional sessions to re-include any of the fields that were dropped due to table relocation remember to re-create your session batch to include the new session(s) in the appropriate order.
