GIS Addressing Database & Applications

Project Description

Livingston County GIS (LCGIS) has been steadily building and converting key governmental information into geographically referenced data, including addressing information. A key stage in the County's addressing efforts was to standardize the management of address resources, services, and operations for all affected county departments and local units of government.

LCGIS contracted with InfoGeographics to provide the solution to these issues and deliver a common address framework and application tools. The County of Livingston Address Management System (CLAMS) is designed to establish an Enterprise Addressing System that will bridge any gaps and provide a comprehensive approach to the management of this key information.

Project Responsibilities

InfoGeographics is following a structured methodology to accomplish the project goals. These entail the following steps and methods:

Database Design
  • Full featured geodatabase design developed in conjunction with LCGIS staff. This included examination of workflow and business process.
Database Implementation
  • Enterprise address geodatabase implementation and troubleshooting of the CLAMS geodatabase as a collaborative effort with LCGIS staff.
Develop GIS Workflow & Editing Procedures
  • Developed custom applications in ArcGIS Server, including a New Address Tool, Address Change Tool, and Automated Reporting Tools. Developed Backup/Archiving/Maintenance Procedures, recommendations, and reports.
  • IGI's GeoConnector utilized for some of the backend data movement process.
Interface GIS & Tidemark
  • Implemented periodic and instant synchronization tools to keep Tidemark Permitting database aligned with the ArcGIS Server addressing database.
