InfoGeographics, Inc (IGI) launched as a professional Geographic Information Systems (GIS) company in May of 2001 as a C-Corporation registered in the State of Michigan. We are a majority women-owned business with offices in beautiful Traverse City, Michigan. The firm has grown steadily since inception, building a solid foundation of experienced staff in the key areas of GIS implementation. We are also an Esri Authorized Business Partner and Reseller, and a Geocortex Authorized Implementor.
IGI is a "pure" GIS firm, and though our staff has wide-ranging and useful experience in many other technical fields, such as utilities, civil engineering, surveying, environmental, and of course information technologies, we remain true to this vision. GIS is what we do, and our knowledge and track record stands out among other GIS firms, both large and small.
Our business philosophy centers on unparalleled professional service and expertise in our chosen field. Successfully completing projects that exceed our clients' expectations is our primary concern. We strive at all times to be exceptionally responsive to the needs of our clients and their goals, and this close working relationship is never taken for granted.
InfoGeographics has recognized the synergy between professional services and software products and this has led us to build and offer commercial software products as a part of our business strategy. These products have been developed as a direct result of working with clients and identifying needs that were not being fulfilled in the marketplace. Building and selling commercial products, like our flagship GeoConnector application and the Address Quality Extension, has had many positive effects on our professional practice. Truly "shrink wrapping" an application for sale, when done properly, is not a trivial matter, encompassing installs, version control, help systems, bug handling, and enhancement planning, to name a few. This rounding out and support of commercially released applications makes our entire programming and application development efforts better and enhances the quality of everything we do as a company.
As InfoGeographics moves into the future, we see GIS technology becoming more and more embedded in traditional computer applications across the board, enabling geospatial capabilities in ways that may be entirely behind the scenes or as the front end to help communicate in effective, visual ways that have not been possible in the past. In this sense, we see IGI as a "GIS and information technology integration company", bringing together information and systems either existing or new, geospatial or not, and melding it in the geographic context to provide capabilities to communicate, manage, and make better decisions in powerful and cost effective ways, thereby Connecting Information to Your World!
